Named one of the South's best biscuit joints by Southern Living, this local favorite has two Athens locations with indoor and outdoor seating - just expect a wait on game days.

At just one month old, little Odin was found by a Good Samaritan with a ruptured eye and a will to live stronger than anyone could imagine. After surgery at UGA to remove her eye, she was sent to animal control—but her story was far from over. Vincent’s Place Sanctuary learned about her, rushed to adopt her, and helped her overcome neurological issues, stomach troubles, and a dangerous parasite. Now, Odin lives every day surrounded by love, joy, and safety!

🏛️ State Rep. Marcus Wiedower Resigns Seat

The Gist: State Rep. Marcus Wiedower resigned Tuesday to focus on his expanding real estate business, Hillpointe, where he's vice president of external affairs. The Republican represented District 121 (parts of Oconee and Clarke counties) since 2019 and chaired the House Gaming Study Committee, championing sports betting legalization bills.

Why It Matters: A special election will be called to fill the seat, possibly as early as December. Wiedower's departure may stall Georgia's sports betting legalization efforts.
