Locos Grill and Pub

Locos Grill and Pub has been a part of the Athens dining landscape since 1988, when Jamey Loftin and Hughes Lowrance opened a tiny general store and deli called Locos Deli and General Store. The original concept sold sandwiches, milk, toilet paper, and other college student essentials. Over the decades, it grew into a full pub and grill with multiple locations, including two in Athens on Timothy Road and Barnett Shoals Road. The menu covers the full range of pub fare: award winning jumbo wings, specialty burgers made fresh and never frozen, original sandwiches, fresh salads, and a full bar. The wings are the signature item that regulars keep coming back for, and they have won enough local awards to justify the claim. The burgers are solid, and the overall menu offers enough variety to satisfy groups with different preferences. The atmosphere is classic sports pub: plenty of TVs, a lively bar area, and a dining room that works for families during earlier hours. The two Athens locations give west side and east side residents convenient access without having to cross town. Both locations maintain the same menu and the same casual, fun energy. Locos is open daily for lunch and dinner. The Timothy Road location serves the west side, while the Barnett Shoals location covers the east side. No reservations are needed for most visits, though both locations can get busy on game days and weekend evenings.
